Consultation and Design

The start of our journey together is a chance for us to discuss the type of commission you’re looking for. We’ll ask questions about your particular tastes and style, discuss your preferences, and review photographs of your space and other furnishings.

Once we have as much information as we can gather at this stage, we’ll produce a number of diagrammatic sketches to show you options for the layout and size to scale of your commission.

Materials and Build

We primarily recommend and work extensively with Walnut and English Oak sourced exclusively from our partners at Whitney Sawmills. These woods have been mainstays of furniture making for hundreds of years are still the best material because of their durability, workability and propensity for beautiful finishes.

During the build phase, we’ll be immersed in the crafting and ongoing design of your commission, but we’ll ensure you’re kept informed of progress through timely notifications as we progress to each stage of the build.

Finish and Delivery

Our beautiful finishes are created by Acorn French Polishing, Hertfordshires premier French Polishing company. Acorn create the best finish for your furniture based on the wood it’s built from.

When your commission is almost complete, you’ll receive a call to organise a convenient date and time, and a subsequent call one hour prior to arrival to confirm we’re on schedule. We’ll never leave you waiting in all day for a delivery.
